Heinkel Lerche III model kit
Historical Background: Die Heinkel Lerche war ein Ende 1944 entworfenes deutsches VTOL-Projekt, das als radikaler Ringflügler konzipiert war. Das Flugzeug sollte senkrecht auf seinem Heck starten und landen, wobei zwei gegenläufige Propeller innerhalb eines markanten Ringflügels für den nötigen Auftrieb sorgten.
Diese Konstruktion sollte die Vorteile eines Hubschraubers beim Start mit der Geschwindigkeit eines Jägers im Horizontalflug kombinieren. Physikalisch gesehen war das Konzept extrem gewagt: Die Steuerung während der Übergangsphase vom Vertikal- in den Horizontalflug wäre ohne moderne Computerunterstützung kaum stabilisierbar gewesen. Zudem stellte die Landung ein enormes Problem dar, da der Pilot quasi „blind“ nach unten auf das Heck hätte steuern müssen.
Aufgrund des Kriegsendes 1945 kam die Lerche nie über das Stadium von theoretischen Entwürfen und Windkanalstudien hinaus, bleibt aber bis heute ein Paradebeispiel für die technologische Extremsituation der damaligen Luftfahrtforschung.

- Material: PLA.
- Coloring: The base material can feature different shades, e.g., light grey, dark grey, black, etc.
- Assembly Groups: Different assembly groups within one kit may feature these different color shades.
- Images: Photos may show renderings, prototypes, or finished models for illustration.
- Details: Small parts are usually bundled on sprues to simplify handling and ensure completeness. Clear parts are vacuum-molded and marked to simplify cutting the final contour.
- NOT included: Adhesives, paints, decals, or electronic components.
The kit is delicate, detailed, and intended for painting. This is not a "Plug & Play" quick-build kit – experience and tools are required.
Not suitable for children (choking hazard). Recommended glue: Cyanoacrylate (not included).
Care & Handling
- Heat: PLA is heat-sensitive. Not suitable for temperatures above 40 °C. Avoid direct sunlight.
- Cleaning: Hand wash only with warm water (< 40 °C). Not dishwasher safe.
